Lockable rollers for office furniture are supposed to be particularly stable and yet take up little room and be simple in design. Therefore, the invention makes use of a double roller which has two wheels (2) which are arranged on the same axle as one another and are fitted onto the ends of an axle pin (3) which is attached in the region of its centre in a carrying body (1). A locking lever (9) which has a cam face with a projection (11) is swivellably mounted on the axle pin (3) between the wheels (2), the said cam face resting directly on a locking element (6) which is radially movable in relation to the carrying body and with respect to the wheels. Sections, in particular arms (7, 8), which are parallel to the axles of the wheels and can be engaged with the running treads (13, 14) of the shell-shaped wheels (2) are located on the locking element (6). <IMAGE>
