PURPOSE:To provide a thermosetting adhesive composition which is excellent in adhesion to an oily face, grab and anti-rusting properties, which comprises an epoxy resin, an acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer containing a carboxyl group and a synthetic rubber. CONSTITUTION:In 100pts.wt. of an epoxy resin is incorporated 3-15pts.wt. of an acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer containing a carboxyl group and 60-100 pts.wt. of a synthetic rubber (for example, styrene-butadiene rubber) and option ally a filler, an additive, etc. The resulting mixture is kneaded in a warmed state under pressure. A curing agent is added to the kneaded mixture and the mixture is then kneaded sufficiently. EFFECT:The composition can be cured without lowering in cohesive force during heating of the compositoin which is in an uncured state. The composition which is in an uncured state can be safely transferred and fixed on a working line. The occurrence of strain and shrink mark can be prevented when it is used for adhering steel sheets.
