PURPOSE:To sample sodium in an uncontaminated state, by connecting a washing line which circulates washing sodium, to sampling lines which are connected to a sampling vessel. CONSTITUTION:A sampling vessel 8 is enclosed and supported in a tightly closed container 11, and the outlet end and the inlet end of the vessel 11 are attached to the ends of an outlet-side sampling line 3 and an inlet-side sampling line 2 by flanges 10 and 9, respectively. A circulating loop 18 for washing sodium constitutes a closed circuit which passes from a branching point 21 on the inlet-side sampling line 2 to a branching point 31 on the inlet-side sampling line 3 via a valve 22, an expansion tank 23, an electromagnetic pump 24, and valves 25, 26, 27 and 28. After the sampling lines 3 and 2, and the sampling vessel 8 are washed with the use of the loop 18, a sample of sodium to be analyzed is introduced into the sampling vessel 8, and solidified by quenching. Then the sample is subjected to analysis by cutting the vessel 8. |
