PURPOSE:To facilitate manufacture of a cylinder head having a heat-resistive plate for preventing between-valves crack which is casted-in, by forming a pair of leg parts on the heat-resistive plate and pouring through said leg part, the molten metal for forming cylinder head into the space formed under the heat- resistive plate. CONSTITUTION:The both side-surfaces of a heat-resistive plate 1 are cut into arcuate form to permit arrangement with the opened edge parts of an intake port and an exhaust port, and a stepped part 2 is formed at the lower edge of the heat-resistive plate if necessary, and a small hole 3 into which the top edge of a fuel injection nozzle is inserted is formed on the upper surface of the heat- resistive plate, and a pair of leg parts 4 are formed at the both edges of the undersurface. Said heat-resistive plate 1 is loaded onto the loading surface 6 on the receiving side 5 of a sand mold for casting cylinder head, an a space 7 is formed between the heat-resistive plate 1 and the loading surface 6. After the above operation, the molten cast iron is poured into said sand mold in this state, and the heat-resistive plate 1 is casted by use of a cylinder head 8. The cylinder head 8 thus casted is machined to remove the undersurface side which is contiguous to a combustion chamber, to a depth of position 9. |
