PURPOSE:To simplify restoration, by setting the content of a save memory on a tap coefficient memory when a convergence state is obtained, in a data transmission system for equalization processing. CONSTITUTION:The state of equalization with a training pattern is detected at a signal quality detecting circuit 23, in receiving data from a terminal, and the tap coefficient at the end of equalization is saved to a save buffer 28 via a switch 27. When an automatic equalizer 11 reaches an undesirable convergence state, the signal quality detecting circuit 23 detects this convergence state, and the tap coefficient saved in the save buffer 28 is forcedly overwritten in a tap coefficient memory 26. Thus, the state is restored to the state at the point of time of the initial equalization. |
