PURPOSE:To sufficiently cool ink by a method in which a heat-meltable ink ribbon is extendedly set along the running path of a heating head and when the head moves backwards, the ink ribbon is peeled off and wound up. CONSTITUTION:A heat transfer ribbon 27 sent out of a supply reel 26 is directed to guide rollers 30 and 31 attached to a carriage 25 and a guide roller 29 attached to a cassette case 28, and then wound around a winding reel 33 through a guide roller 32 attached to the cassette case 28. During the period, the ribbon 27 is held by a ribbon-fixing friction part 34 and a platen 35 and directed between a heating head 36 attached to the carriage 25 and a recording paper 37 on the platen 35. During the recording period, the ribbon 27 is pressed on the platen 35 by the friction part 34 and fixed, and while moving the carriage 25 in the direction of (a), a heat transfer recording is made. After the recording for one line, the head 36 is separated from the platen 35 and the carriage 25 is moved backwards, during which the ribbon 27 is separated by the guide roller 31 and the ribbon 27 is wound up by as much as an amount used after the reciprocal moving. |
