PURPOSE:To improve atomization of starter fuel in a carburetor having an air intake passage for starter system connected downstream of a throttle valve in an air intake passage for main system, by providing a starter fuel supplying outlet at a position above the lower surface of the intake passage for starter system. CONSTITUTION:An air intake passage 30 for starter system is provided on one side of a body 1 of a carburetor which controls the amount of fuel sucked into an air intake passage 2 for main system by lifting and lowering a vacuum responsive piston valve (not shown) with the action of a diaphragm device 12. A fuel passage 31 is provided along the vertical direction perpendicular to the air intake passage 30, a lower end of which leading to a float chamber 28. An upper portion of the fuel passage 31 leads through the side way of the air intake passage 30 for starter system and in turn above the passage 30, where it is bent toward the upper portion of the passage 30, and an end of the fuel passage 31 is designed to open at an upper surface of the passage 30 to form a starter fuel supplying outlet 34. The air intake passage 30 is communicated through hoses 51 and 52 having a temperature sensing mechanism 39 therebetween to an intake manifold 4. |
