PURPOSE:To stably manufacture sialon by installing sealing gas blowing means between a starting material charging valve and a reaction chamber and at the outside of a product discharging valve so as to isolate the reaction chamber from open air. CONSTITUTION:Charging valves 12-1, 12-2 are placed in a starting material feeding path 11 for charging granules A from a hopper 9 into a reaction chamber 2, and a sealing gas blowing pipe 13 is installed between the valves 12-1, 12-2. The valves 12-1, 12-2 are successively opened to charge the granules A into the chamber 2. While charging the granules A, the chamber 2 is isolated from open air by blowing an inert gas from the pipe 13. A sealing gas blowing pipe 17 is installed at the outside of a discharging valve 16 in a product discharging path 15. When a reaction product is discharged from the chamber 2 through the valve 16, an inert gas blown from the pipe 17 flows obliquely upward through a nozzle 18-1, and it is exhausted from a suction hole 18-2 to isolate the chamber 2 from open air. |
