PURPOSE:To ensure easy and facilitated recording despite a small track width and high recording density, by recording with slanting azimuths althernately every second track to a magnetic tape MT by means of two rotary magnetic heads and every revolution of these heads. CONSTITUTION:The digital signals underwent the 1/2 time axis compression are supplied sequentially and alternately to magnetic heads 8c and 8d via a rotary transformer RT and every revolution of a rotary shaft 7. These digital signals are recorded by the heads 8c and 8d to a magnetic tape MT with slanting azimuths alternately and every second track as shown in the figure 3. A bearing supports rotatably a rotary shaft 1 to which the heads 8c and 8d are attached in a body. The lace surface at the rotary side of said bearing is tilted, and therefore the bearing produces waves. In such a case, the track pattern which is recorded with slanting azimuths to the tape MT is curved but has a fixed track width. Thus the tracks Ta and Tb adjacent to each other and set in parallel to each other. Then the reproduction is carried out while detecting a shift to the track of the tape MT and at the same time compensating the tracking shift. In such a way, the reproduced signals are obtained with no deterioration of S/N. |
