PURPOSE:To recover effectively the Fe contained in blast furnace dust contg. Zn into molten iron and to separate and recover Zn as concd. Zn dust by using said dust as a desiliconizing agent for the molten iron. CONSTITUTION:The dust which is discharged from a blast furnace, contains Zn and consists essentially of FeO is blown into the molten iron 1 in a vessel 3 such as a ladle or the like. The Si in the molten iron 1 is oxidized to SiO2 by the FeO in the dust and is removed in molten slag 1a, and FeO is recovered as Fe in the molten iron. The Zn contained in the dust evaporates, is discharged from the vessel 3, and is separated and recovered as the concd. Zn dust consisting essentially of ZnO with a dust collector 4. The blast furnace dust is effectively utilized without requiring any Zn removing installation and operation. |
