PURPOSE:To reduce the consumption rate of auxiliary fuel required to raise the temperature of moisture contained in an exhaust gas, by dehumidifying and then burning a dry exhaust gas generated while a moisture-containing sludge is dried together with a dry sludge. CONSTITUTION:A moisture-containing sludge 1 generates a dry sludge 3 and a dry exhaust gas 5 when dried in contact with a burnt exhaust gas in a dryer 2. The dry exhaust gas 5 is introduced into an incinerator 4 after dehumidified by a dehumidifier 9 instead of being transferred to the incinerator 4 without any treatment. This dehumidifying process ensures the transfer of dry exhaust gas 5 into the incienerator 4 under such a condition that the sludge 1 has its plenty of water contents fully removed. The dehumidifying of dry exhaust gas 5 comprises the steps of cleaning and cooling the exhaust gas 5 through a packing tower or a spray tower, whereby condensing and removing the water content in the exhaust gas 5. |
