PURPOSE:To obtain a multicolor heat-sensitive recording material such that an upper layer is not affected by a lower layer and ground fogging hardly occurs, by intermediately providing an ?intermediate layer of a water-soluble resin between the first heat-sensitive color forming layer comprising a leuco dye and a color developer as main constitutents and the secnd heat-sensitve color forming layer. CONSTITUTION:The heat-sensitive color forming layer comprising a conventional leuco dye such as a triphenylmethane base one, a fluoran base one or a phenothiazine base one, a phenolic of acidic substance for developing the color of the leuco dye when being heated, a binder and an additive or the like is laminated on a base, in which case the intermediate layer of a water-soluble resin such as polyvinyl alcohol, methoxy cellulose or hydroxy cellulose is provided between the first heat-sensitive color forming layer and the second color forming layer. When high-speed recording property or prevention of ground fogging is desired, a material having a high heat-fusing temperature may be used for the upper layer, and a material having a low heat-fusing temperature may be used for the lower layer, in which case the quantity of the intermediate layer to be employed is set to be 0.5-7g/m<2>. |
