PURPOSE:To reduce the number of component parts of a printing mechanism and provide a printing head comprising a small-type lightweight printing mechanism and is easy to assemble and maintain, by integrating a printing head and a carriage with each other, in a serial printer. CONSTITUTION:The printing head 11 is provided with notches 17a, 17b at positions corresponding to a guide stay 7 and a combined guide and feeding screw 8, and is provided with arm members 14a, 14b in such form as to surround the notches 17a, 17b, respectively. The arm members 14a, 14b are fixed so that they can be rotated with pivotal shaft 15a, 15b on one end thereof as centers, and the other ends are connected to each other by a spring 6. To fit the head 11 to the guide stay 7 and the screw 8, the arm members 14a, 14b are opened against the force of the spring 16, and the guide stay 7 and the screw 8 are engaged into the notches 17a, 17b, respectively. |
