A disc-type covering for frying pans or similar vessels, having a surface which is permeable to steam consisting of a fibrous filter having pores and a gripping element, is to be designed in such a way that it can be produced in a particularly simple manner and easily destroyed as an inexpensive disposable product after one-time use. This is achieved in that the surfaces of the filter which are permeable to steam are at least partially bounded by compacted zones in the filter material and these compacted zones - connected to the filter in a toothed manner - have a plastic additive, the pores of the filter in particular serving as engagement hollows for the additive. Compared to the surfaces which are permeable to steam, these compacted zones have a greater resistance to bending, thus giving the disc-type covering its dimensional stability overall. To produce this covering, a web of fibrous filter material is soaked or steamed zonewise with a curable plastic additive, the filter material is preferably firstly provided with the compacted zones and, subsequently, the individual coverings are cut or punched out. |
