The invention relates to the repairing of heat exchangers with a multi-tubular grid. It relates to a repair method by which the faulty welds 4 of a heat-exchanger tube 2 and tube plate 1 are repaired by the insertion of a sleeve 3 which can be slid into the tube 2 and the plate 1, and then by heating this sleeve 3 so that it resumes a larger previous shape which it has memorised. Such a material is a nickel/titanium alloy containing 53 to 57% nickel. Application to the repairing of heat exchangers of nuclear power stations.
