The subject of the present invention is a device for stabilising a ladder with hollow rungs. This device is constituted by two independent stabilising legs 3, each of which comprises a section 6 capable of being slipped inside a rung 2a of the ladder and a support section disposed in an oblique direction with respect to the preceding one; a flexible element 8, constituted for example by a link chain, is fixed to the support section 4 of each of the stabilising legs 3, this support section furthermore carrying an adjustment element 7 to which the flexible element can be fixed at an intermediate point of its length. <IMAGE>
