PURPOSE:To enable the easy fixing and holding of a casting having any shape freely attachably and detachably by embedding the lower half part of the casting into the iron grains in a box body, acting magnetic force on the iron grains and fixing and holding the casting with the iron grains. CONSTITUTION:A box body 4 is placed on a support base 1 with elastic air cushion 2 and a plate-like table 3, and about half of iron grains 5 are put in the body 4. A casting 6 is placed on the top surface of the grains 5 in such a way that the sprue part 6a and flow-off part 6b of the casting 6 project to the upper side from the top end surface of the box 4, whereafter the grains 5 are packed thereon so as to embed the casting 6 by about half. An oscillation motor 9 is then operated to pack the grains 5 thoroughly in the body 4, and electric current is run to a coil 8 to excite a magnet 7 so that the casting 6 is fixed and held with the grains 5 by magnetic force.
