PURPOSE:To produce efficiently a spot clad belt for lead frames of ICs, by cladding an Al rod having a prescribed width on a base material belt then removing the Al rod except the desired spot parts. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a base material band 1 to be press-stuck with an Al or Al alloy rod is cleaned by polishing; thereafter, an Al or Al alloy rod 2 formed to have a prescribed width, that is, the width preset so as to made equal to the transverse width in the spot parts is superposed on said surfaece, and both are cold-rolled and press-stuck, whereby the belt clad with the striped rod is obtd. The spot parts to act as forward end parts 3 of pins are allowed to remain after blanking in the Al or Al alloy clad like a stripe and the Al or Al alloy in the unnecessary parts is removed mechanically or chemically. |
