<p>An ultraviolet disinfecting unit for a dental drill comprises a holding tube (2) formed of a transparent quartz glass tube into which can be inserted and held a dental implement (A), such as a hand-held air turbine, which is positioned in a disinfecting unit body (1), a plurality of ultraviolet sterilization lamps (5a), (5b) arranged around the outer periphery of the tube (2), and an aluminum reflecting plate (7) provided on the inner surface of the body (1) containing the tube (2) for reflecting the ultraviolet rays emitted by the lamps (5a), (5b) at random. The ultraviolet rays emitted by the lamps are all emitted onto the implement without being partly shielded, thereby providing sufficient sterilization and disinfection effects, the ultraviolet rays emitted by the lamps are reflected at random so that recesses and the rear of the implement are also illuminated to provide a more effective sterilization effect, the sterilization and disinfection effects are performed rapidly and simply, and an immediately usable implement is provided. </p> |
