The invention relates to a power controller (1) with cord connection and a moving housing (3). The phase angle control (24) accommodated in the housing has a manually operated adjusting member (16) and a circuit breaker (29) for electrically breaking the circuit which can be closed via the power controller. To achieve the object of being able to operate circuit breaker (29) and adjusting member (16) completely independently of one another, it is proposed that the circuit breaker (29) is provided with a switching member (11) which is separate from the adjusting member (16) of the power controller (24). The adjusting member (16) is constructed in a particularly advantageous manner as a drum and the switching member (11) as a sliding button, both of which are arranged directly adjacent to one another. A clean separation of functions is achieved by means of the directions of operation of the adjusting member and switching member which extend at right angles to one another. <IMAGE>
