The invention relates to a digital switching device for local networks. The object of the invention is to indicate a switching device which allows a through-connection of information at different bit rates and information of different "packeting types". According to the invention, one channel processor (KPS, KPE) is provided per line (L1 to Lx) which takes over the function of a time stage, while the space stage is formed (Z-R-Z) by a bus (B) via which, controlled by a central controller (St) after the prompting of the bus (B) by one of the channel processors, the latter is connected to a second channel processor. <IMAGE>
