Device for measuring the air resistance of vehicles

During the measurement of the air resistance, in particular very large load vehicles are placed - preferably by the axles - on pallets or platforms which are supported on air cushions and are coupled to force transducers of a measuring arrangement for transmitting horizontal forces. The air-cushion-supported platforms or pallets guarantee virtually friction-free displaceability of the vehicle in the horizontal direction so that an exact measurement of the loading resulting from wind pressure is possible by means of the force transducers.
