PURPOSE:To obtain a hologram recording material high in sensitivity and capable of being rewritten on, by adding a specified amt. of iron to bismuth-silicon oxide, or bismuth-germanium oxide. CONSTITUTION:Bismuth-silicon oxide (Bi12SiO20, hereafter abbreviated as BSO) or bismuth-germanium oxide (Bi12GeO20, hereafter BGO) exhibits remarkable photoconductive effect, and they are used for a hologram recording material. Addition of 10ppm iron to BSO or BGO can double its sensitivity and max. diffraction efficiency, so halve the treatment time, and enhance system efficiency and cost performance, too. When iron concn. is smaller than 10ppm, its effect decreases, and when more, the reproduced image becomes dark. |
