The protective device consists of a protective part (1) of elastic material which has a round supporting shoulder (2) at one end for fastening to a bottom transverse web of the housing and a supporting area (5) on the opposite end in the form of an elongated slot which interacts with a top transverse web (12) of the housing and permits a longitudinal movement of the part (1). The protective part has an opening (4) in the centre section for the passage of the hauling control lever (8) and a slit (3) towards the bottom section for the passage of the rope (13) which is passed through the device. The invention is used in lifting or pulling devices through which a rope is passed.
