Apparatus for the determination of a biological composition which is capable of reacting with a composition which is a specific antagonist for said biological composition, and comprising a member of a material adapted to fix said biological composition, or the composition which is a specific antagonist for said biological composition, characterised in that it comprises a transparent tube (1) which is substantially cylindrical with circular cross-section, closed at its base, and comprising in succession, beginning at its base, a first reaction zone (A) within which said member (5) is engaged and immobilised, and a second zone (B) permitting direct determination of the optical characteristics of a solution present in said tube, the internal (1a) and external (1b) surfaces of the walls of said tube being centred with respect to one another at least in said second zone (B).
