<p>ADJUSTABLE ELEVATION DRILLING RIG PLATFORM This invention is directed to a method and apparatus for the erection and lowering of an adjustable height platform without the use of a crane or A-legs. The erectable and collapsible platform is intended primarily for use as an adjustable height oil well drilling rig platform and comprises a floor, a sub-base, a floor support means which can raise and lower the floor and a hydraulically powered raising and lowering means. The floor is offset from the sub-base when in a collapsed position and is directly above the sub-base when in an erect position. The hydraulically powered raising and lowering means is linked to the sub-base and the floor support means so that tension forces are applied when the floor is being raised and compression forces prevail when the floor is being lowered.</p> |
