PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized, wide-band nonlinear distortion compensating circuit by generating a distortion signal by utilizing an input-side hybrid element without using any circular. CONSTITUTION:An input signal from an input terminal 11 is branched to two distribution points 32 and 33 by the input-side hybrid element 31. As the signal level becomes gradually higher and higher, the matching condition at the distribution port 32 (to which diodes 23 and 24 are connected) becomes unsatisfied owing to the influence of the nonlinearity of the diodes 23 and 24 and only a distortion signal is outputted as an unbalanced component from an isolation port 35. The generated distortion component is adjusted in amplitude and phase by the variable attenuator 14 and variable phase device 17 of a distortion path 37, connected to the input port 38a of an output-side hybrid element 38 for composition, and composed with the signal of a main signal path 34. A delay path 16 performs delay matching between the main signal path 34 and distortion path 37.
