PURPOSE:To provide a semiconductor laser device which emits two laser beams with a predetermined angle therebetween by a method wherein the resonator consists of at least two groups of resonators, and the resonators of each group constitute a phased array in which the resonator distance sequentially changes. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor laser device (laser chip) 1 is provided with, on a substrate 2 made of N-type GaAs, a pair of phase arrays 4, 5 partitioned by a groove for isolation 3. These phased arrays 4, 5 emit laser beams 7, 8 inclined to the directions respectively having angles -theta, +theta with respect to a base axis 6. Therefore, these laser beams 7, 8 travel in the directions forming an angle of 2theta with each other and are used as, for instance, the light source of a laser beam printer.
