The invention relates to a process and equipment for sintering ceramic mouldings, in particular soft ferrites, in a chamber oven, whose oven atmosphere is continuously circulated at least during the binder phase, i.e. during the time during which the organic binders escape from the green mouldings. The process and the equipment differ from the state of the art in that the oven atmosphere is additionally heated outside the oven chamber during the binder phase, in that the binders volatilising during the binder phase are continuously burned outside the oven chamber in the circulation, and in that the combustion gases thus generated remain in the circulation and only the excess quantities of gas are discharged. In this way the risk of deflagrations or explosions in the closed chamber oven is reliably avoided. In addition, a more uniform temperature distribution is obtained in the oven chamber, so that the mouldings no longer crack or disintegrate during the binder phase. <IMAGE>
