The invention relates to a hydraulic press for the compression moulding especially of extensive, thin-walled material parts 9, such as body parts of SMC-reinforced plastics or the like, comprising a bottom strut 1, on which the press bed 3 carrying the bottom die 2 is supported so that it can be raised and lowered by means of hydraulic cylinders 4, a top strut 6 carrying the top die 5, which strut is connected by way of supporting columns 7 to the bottom strut 1 and can be raised and lowered by way of additional hydraulic cylinders 8, supported in the bottom strut 1.
<??>In order to make a press of this type more stable and to achieve good parallel guiding, it is proposed according to the invention that the top strut 6 be adjustably fixed on the supporting columns 7 and the supporting columns 7 be fixably guided in the bottom strut 1. When the top die 5 is in the moulding position the supporting columns 7 are thereby clamped fast on the bottom strut 1, the supporting columns 7 being equipped with threads in the clamping areas 10, and split threaded nuts 11 serving as clamping devices, the two parts 11a and 11b of which are each arranged so that they can swivel about a common swivel axis 12 supported in the bottom strut 1 (Fig. 2).
