Method for the immobilisation of glucose isomerase and immobilised glucose isomerase system

A process for improving the immobilisation of glucose isomerase on a carrier matrix by pretreatment of the carrier matrix with divalent magnesium ions is described. Also described is the resulting immobilised glucose isomerase system. According to one embodiment, the carrier matrix is an inorganic oxide which is impregnated with a polyamine which is subsequently crosslinked with an excess of a bifunctional reagent in order to yield a plurality of attached functional groups, in which case the washing solution is magnesium sulphate.
