A new type of extension for the front wheel fork of motor cycles etc., in which the existing front wheel fork is extended in the upper region by means of additional parts and the extended region bears a steering head tube (16) which is inserted into the steering head of the frame instead of the originally present steering head tube. The additional parts to be mounted on the existing motor cycle fork comprise reinforcing tubes (6) which surround the upper region of the vertical tubes (5) of the existing motor cycle fork and thereby reinforce them mechanically such that even the extended fork on its own is capable of taking the loads which normally arise. The additional parts according to the invention are connected to the associated parts of the existing fork essentially by means of clamped connections which can be released as desired, so that assembly and disassembly can be carried out in a simple manner without special tools. <IMAGE>
