Method for target recognition and suppression of interference signals in radar sets

In a method for finding the threshold value for radar signals from the amplitude values of the environment of the respective cell under test in accordance with the method of ordered statistics, the environment is divided into several subenvironments for which a ranking of the amplitude values is in each case carried out separately. From the various hierarchies, one or a number of values are in each case selected and again ordered by size. From this sequence of values, a value is then selected for deriving the threshold value. When the subenvironments are of equal size, a hierarchy is calculated only for one subenvironment and the selected values are stored. For the other subenvironments, the selected values from subenvironments previously ranked, which comprise the same radar cells, are called up from a memory.
