PURPOSE:To select the 2WD and 4WD in simple ways by driving a shaft against a return spring by a driving member and shifting a sleeve externally fitted between a plurality of transmission shafts through a shift fork installed onto the shaft. CONSTITUTION:A 2WD-4WD selecting mechanism 6 is interposed between a plurality of transmission shafts 4A and 4B connected with the front and rear wheels. In this case, the selecting mechanism 6 is constituted of a movable sleeve 13 spline-fitted along a hub 14 having the edge part of one transmission shaft 4A and the edge part of the other transmission shaft 4B and a driving mechanism SD which drives the sleeve 13 along the axial direction of the transmission shafts 4A and 4B. In the switching to the 2WD in case of car inspection, a bolt 19 is screwed into a tapped hole 18, and a shaft 15 is shifted in the (a) direction. Therefore, a sleeve 16 is transferred through a shift fork 16, and the sleeve 16 is demounted from the other transmission shaft 4B.
