PURPOSE:To control the heating plate temperature of a hot press with a good accuracy by feeding back a signal out of a discharge pipeline and controlling the flowing direction of heating medium in accordance with a preheat program issued from a program setting device for heating plate heating and controlling. CONSTITUTION:A heating medium is filled in a circuit and nitrogen gas is enclosed in an expansion tank 25. A closing and opening door 6 is lifted up and a plate material to be treated is placed on a heating plate 3. After the completion of placing the plate material to be treated, the heating plate is lifted up and the pressurizing to the plate material to be treated is started. At that time, as a port B of a three-way regulating valve 15 is closed in a heating medium circuit, a heating medium is not passed in a heat exchanger for cooling, but is circulated in the heating plate 3 by driving a pump 14. The heating medium is circulated in the heating plate 3 and the heat from a car tridge heater is absorbed to carry out a uniform heating.
