The subject-matter of the invention is a fender strip with a body made of rubber, caoutchouc or plastic and a cover strip mounted onto the body of the fender strip. Provided in the head part of the body of the fender strip is a metallic receiving strip into which a bolt is inserted which frictionally connects the cover strip and the body of the fender strip. To strengthen the connection, a bolt nut or a sleeve can be additionally inserted into the receiving strip. Alternatively a positive-locking connection between the cover strip and the body of the fender strip is possible, the cover strip being produced first of all during the manufacture and being inserted into the corresponding mould when the body of the fender strip is produced, so that the cover strip is enclosed by the material of the body of the fender strip.
