PURPOSE:To obtain an electromagnetic shielding coating agent which can give a good film even on a ceramic building material, by using only an inorganic binder comprising a mixture of flaky graphite as the principal conductive material with fine zinc white particles. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnetic shielding coating agent entirely consisting of inorganic materials, wherein the principal conductive material is flaky graphite, 1-80pts.wt., per 100pts.wt. this flaky graphite, fine zinc white particles are used the filler comprises silica, alumina, talc, lime or a mixture thereof, and the binder is colloidal silica, or the like. By using flaky graphite in this coating agent and constituting it entirely from inorganic materials, it is low in cost, non-flammable and excellent in electric conductivity and can give a good film even on a ceramic building material. It is also possible to give any arbitrary hue to this film by top-coating it with a finishing paint.
