Known lead reels, which are preferably used together with electrical cables and leads, provide a lead extension from a power source to the region of the power consumption. Because of the frequently only small length of appliance connection leads, the radius of effectiveness of these appliances around the lead reel is greatly limited . Until now this substantial disadvantage of known lead reels could only be eliminated with additionally required lead extensions or other cost- and time-intensive measures. According to the invention these disadvantages are eliminated with a device integrated into the cylindrical cavity of known lead reels. The device consists in substantial parts of one or more spools, provided with winding devices, which accumulate and dispense lead extensions, at the loose ends of which connection elements are attached which engage externally in profiled openings of the end face of the lead reel. These additional lead extensions increase the radius of effectiveness around known lead reels, save additional aids and lead to significant time and cost savings in the use of lead reels equipped in this manner.
