Multi-part mould for manufacturing objects from elastomeric materials

As a result of their being statically overdetermined, multiply split vulcanising moulds such as, for example, tyre vulcanising moulds that are split radially and in the circumferential plane can only be obtained with an adequately tight sealing effect upon closing, in order to prevent troublesomerubber overflow on the mouldings, if a considerable effort is expended on fitting work. The invention achieves a valve-tight closing of all parts of the mould that fit together by utilising the plastic deformability of the mould material. The need for repeated fitting work is avoided by manufacturing the parting surfaces in question with an overdimension which is reduced to the intended specified size upon the first closing of the mould.
