Boomerang with variable flight properties

An apparatus for boomerangs, with which the flight properties of the latter can be varied at any time (especially lengthening/shortening of the flight path, increased wind stability), and non-workshop-dependent method of trimming. The variation of the flight properties is achieved by changing the lift conditions by means of "control surfaces" built into the arms of the boomerang (cf. reference 4, Fig. 1). Adjustment of the control surfaces downwards: more lift = earlier turn = narrower flight path. Adjustment of the control surfaces upwards: less lift = later/less turn = broader flight path, combined with turn in front of the thrower (compensation for relatively strong wind). To trim boomerangs, an additional layer is applied to the undersides of the arms at the profile end (= narrower flight path, see above 2.1.) and then ground away until the desired flight path diameter is achieved (cf. reference 4, Fig. 2). The possibility of varying the lift conditions at any time permits - the study of their effects - the adaptation of the flight properties - to the capabilities of the thrower (throwing power, turning speed) - to the wind conditions The new method for trimming simplifies the preparation of boomerangs for the respective intended use (especially competition boomerangs). <IMAGE>
