Use of optical waveguides to transmit controlling and regulating commands to and in electric gas-shielded arc welding torches. Transmitters and receivers are arranged in the control panel of welding machines. Optical waveguides are arranged in the hose system and switches to interrupt and, if necessary, regulate the light beam are located in the torch handle in order to initiate appropriate controlling and regulating commands.
