An image duplicating apparatus having an edited mode of copying operation, comprising image forming means for producing an edited copy of a given image, mode selecting means for selecting the edited mode of copying operation, area designating means for designating an edited copy area in which images are to be copied in the edited mode of copying operation, data input means for entering data indicative of the particulars in accordance with which the edited mode of copying operation is to be executed for the designated edited copy area, and control means for allowing entry of data from the data input means in any desired manner after the edited copy area has been designated by the area designating means, provided the edited mode of copying operation is selected.
