A plasma melting device comprises a nozzle (11) with a discharge opening (12). Three cathodes (15) converge towards the discharge opening (12) and are arranged around the outlet of a tube (18) for directing material to be melted into the space between the cathodes (15). During use, the plasma flows (16) converge from the cathodes (15), and the material to be melted drops into the area of coincidence, in the course of which a very effective welding action results and the build-up of material on the wall of the nozzle (11) is essentially cleared out. <IMAGE> |
