The prepn. of built detergent bars contg. (by wt.) 5-45% of a non-soap detergent (I) and 5-60% of detergent builder (II) in which the components are mixed and formed into bars is improved by mixing precursors for aluminosilicate (III) with the bar components under alkaline conditions so that (III) is formed in situ. When (III) is generated in situ the bars have improved hardness, rate of wear in use, and mushing characteristics. |
