<p>PURPOSE:An antibacterial for food products that contains a bisaminoalcohol or its salt as an active ingredient, which is added directly to the food product or applied to packing materials or the like in the field of food industry to avoid the secondary infection. CONSTITUTION:A bisaminoalcohol of the formula [R is (CH2)1-10] or its salt is dissolved in water and the resultant solution is used as an antibacterial for food products. As the aminoalcohol, is preferably the analog with (CH2)4 or more and, since the alcohol reduces its solubility in water, as the number of CH2 increases, the use of an organic solvent such as ethanol is preferred in the aqueous solution. The use of the salt such as hydrochoride or nitrate is preferred, because its solubility is increased and antibacterial activity is strengthened. For example, Escherichia coil is iradicated by 30min contact with more than 10ppm of the alcohol where R is (CH2)4.</p> |
