PURPOSE:To compensate for volume change due to temperature of working oil to maintain damping force property properly, for example, by interposing an oil reserving chamber provided with a free piston of a volume compensating tank. CONSTITUTION:When a piston 7 is displaced to contact an oil chamber A, oil amount corresponding to the displacement of the piston in the oil chamber A flows through a path 14 of a piston rod 8 into an oil chamber B and then throttled by an orifice 15 to receive resistance to generate damping force and to absorb vibration. When the contraction speed of the oil chamber A is then high and boosted pressure reaches the valve opening pressure for a releaf valve 22, most part of oil corresponding to the displacement of the piston closes a check valve 20A of a tank 4 so that the oil forcibly opens the relief valve 22 through a check valve 13A, a path 12 and ports 11, 19 and flows into the oil chamber B through a check valve 20B and a port 10B of a damper body 3. Then the damping force is generated by receiving the resistance due to the relief valve 22 to absorb vibration. |
