PURPOSE:To maintain the distance between a nozzle and the work at a prescribed value up to the end part of the work by providing a means for swiveling a sensor which swivels the sensor provided swivelably around the nozzle so as to position the same on the work. CONSTITUTION:In the case of cutting the work 3 by moving a nozzle 1 from the left end to the right end, a sensor 2c is positioned on the right side of the nozzle 1, and the processing is started. The sensor 2c detects the distance from the work 3, and runs a vertically movable motor 8 forward or backward with an amplifier 10 so that the output signal thereof attains a prescribed value, whereby the distance between the nozzle 1 and the work 3 is maintained at an optimum value and the work is cut. When the nozzle 1 approaches to the right end of the work 3, the sensor 2c tries to deviate from the work 3. A signal 13 for swiveling the sensor is emitted from an NC control device 9 to operate a motor 12 for swiveling the sensor, thereby rotating a ring 6 180 deg. and swiveling the sensor 2c in the position on the left side of the nozzle 1. The sensor 2c is positioned on the work 3 even if the nozzle 1 arrives at the right end of the work 3, thus controlling the distance between the nozzle 1 and the work 3. |
