PURPOSE:To facilitate easy totalization of data, by providing a discriminating means to discriminate whether or not each slave device connected to a master device is equal to a return register ECR and then performing calculation and totalization of registered data on the basis of the result of discrimination of said discriminating means. CONSTITUTION:When using an ECR system, an operator feeds first various types of data including allotment of groups for slave devices S1-S9 to a master device M and at the same time sets the information to the devices S1-S9 to show whether or not each of these slave devices is equal to a return register ECR. This set information is displayed by a display means 13 and at the same time printed by a printing means 14. The device M receives data from devices S1-S9 and decides whether or not each slave device is used exclusive for return register based on the information stored in a memory 11. If the slave device is decided as an ECR for ordinary register use, the totalization data are added. While the data transferred just now is subtracted from the totalization data so far accumulated to the device M if the slave device is decided as an ECR exclusive for return use. |
