PURPOSE:To decrease the processing time, by having continuous conversion retrieval to inform the converted candidate to a user and enabling the user to discontinue the conversion when a desired conversion candidate is displayed. CONSTITUTION:A keyboard 1 serves as a data input part and contains various control keys including a character input key, a conversion key, a discontinuation key, a cursor key, etc. It is possible to feed a conversion discontinuing signal when a desired conversion of Chinese characters is obtained. The number of words is transmitted from a converting part 3, and at the same time the length of an input character train is transmitted from an input part 2. Then the evaluation value is calculated at an evaluation arithmetic part 5 on the basis of the number of words and the length of the input character train. A comparator part 8 compares the evaluation value set to a reference register 6 with the evaluated value set to a new evaluation register 7. A gate-on signal is delivered to an AND circuit 11 when the value set to the register 7 is larger than or equal to the value set to the register 6. |
