PURPOSE:To suck efficiently the dust and smoke generated by cutting, by providing a suction hood to a plasma cutting torch part, connecting the suction hood with a flexible duct to a dust collector and mounting a detector for the end face of a steel plate. CONSTITUTION:A steel plate 3 placed on a surface plate 2 is cut with a torch 1. The space below the plate 2 is partitioned in a transverse direction with a number of partition plates 4, and a hood 5 for discharging smoke is mounted freely slidably along the side ends of the plates 4. An umbrella-like torch hood 6 is mounted around the torch 1, and an end face detector 7 which detects the end face of the plate 3 is mounted at the end part of the hood 6. A flexible duct 8 connected to the dust collector is mounted to the hood 6. The dust and smoke generated by cutting are thus sucked efficiently and surely. When the torch approaches to the end part of the plate 3, the hood 6 is operated automatically by the detector 7, and the hood 6 is stopped when it is not necessary. |
